I heard a story once that really stuck with me.  It was about a man who died.  He had been a strict vegetarian for the last 40 years of his life.  When an autopsy was performed on his remains, they found fragments of old meat still inside his colon.

I mention this story to tell you that food can hide in the pockets of your intestines for a very long time.  In fact, it may never come out.  When food hangs around too long in our colon, first it rots, poisoning us from the inside out.  If that were bad enough, it then becomes hard, blocking the natural movement (peristalsis), which is needed to make us have regular bowel movements.  Food that has been in your colon for a long time petrifies and can become as hard as the soles of your shoes, imagine that!  It is said that constipation is the beginning of all illness.

If you are over age 21, you need to clean your colon now, and keep it clean.  In fact, you should to do a colon cleanse at the change of every season.  Yes, you read it right, 4 times a year!  Besides keeping you well, this gives you an incredible youthful feeling and appearance.  The benefits are enormous!

There are many cleanses available, and I do not profit from telling you about any particular one.  Go to your local health food store and ask them about a good colon cleanser.  I like the ones that contain psyllium husk and bentonite clay, but it is not manditory.  The first colon cleanse I ever took was a great one called Dr. Richard Schultz’s Intestinal Formula One and Two, which can be found at 1-800-HerbDoc.

It matters not which kind you use, so long as it cleans you out.  It is important that you drink lots of water during a cleanse, and take probiotics afterwards to put back the good stomach bacteria you just cleaned out.
